Erika Gaitán is the Director of Impact and Innovation at 91ÌÒÉ« (HRiA).
Erika leads HRiA’s Community-Informed AI Services initiative — a strategic effort to help public health organizations use artificial intelligence in ways that are equitable, transparent, and accountable to the communities they serve. She works closely with health departments, community health workers, and public sector teams, navigating the growing presence of AI in policy, data, and communications work.
Erika’s practice spans equitable evaluation, participatory research, and community capacity-building, including co-leading Boston’s first citywide community health assessment, which engaged more than 100 community organizations and 2,500 residents, and leading statewide efforts to support equitable distribution of ARPA funds in Massachusetts. Originally from the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, she holds a master’s degree in social work from Boston University and is a Leaders in Equitable Evaluation and Diversity (LEEAD) fellow.
